New World Record for Canadian W50

Patty Blanchard (W50) ran the 800m in 2:25.02 while competing at the first annual "Dash Through the Snow" indoor meet hosted at the Universite de Moncton.

Patty’s 2:25.02 beats Kathy Martin’s W50 CAN record of 2:26.69 set in 2005, and the 2:25.28 World Record set by Caroline Marler of Great Britain in 2001

Patty’s husband and coach Marc Beaudoin says that Patty is only 4 weeks into her indoor interval training.

Marc thinks Patty has about 5 seconds of improvement in her this coming season. (Patty says 3 seconds max J)

Patty’s next race is the Mile at Cornell on Jan 19th, where she’s going to go after Maureen de St Croix’s 5:10.87 WR.

She’s looking at running a number of events in Boston at the USATF champs, and is considering the Worlds in France as well.

W50 WR’s … W50 CAN records…

1500m 4:51 Pat Gallagher GBR 4:57 Kathy Martin

3000m 10:17 Pat Gallagher GBR 10:23 Kathy Martin
